Pets – Ollie’s Page

To all doggos and their humans – welcome to my page! I love living at Mena Farm – it’s doggie heaven and all happy, friendly dogs are welcome!

I don’t know which is my favourite thing – exploring the wild camping meadows, swimming in the pond, or being head of meeting and greeting. I do know the worst is having to be on a lead in the main camping field, but all us well-behaved doggies can run and exercise off-lead in our rear meadows. There’s 11-acres to explore there, and some great smells to follow from all the local wildlife. So far, I’ve tried to made friends with the local hedgehogs, badgers, deer and rabbits, although I can’t understand why they won’t play with me!?

Dog Rules:

Our humans must clean up after us wherever we are at Mena Farm – including the rear fields. Our neighbour cuts the meadows every year to feed to his cows, and our poo can make the cows very poorly, and sometimes lose their babies. I love people and like other dogs a lot, but I know that not all dogs are as friendly and happy as me. If this is you, then your human needs to keep you safe and on a lead at all times, even in the rear fields. Rubbish I know but it’s important to keep all the humans safe whilst at Mena Farm. My humans are happy for campers to bring their other pets, even cats(!), although I’m afraid they’re not allowed to stay in the glamping or self-catering accommodation. Only good dogs get to do that , and a maximum of two dogs are allowed per booking at Mena Farm.

Things to do with dogs in Cornwall:

The very best thing about living in Cornwall, is that it is super dog-friendly. My humans, Ali & Neil, take me everywhere with them. If your humans are wondering what to do with you during their stay at Mena Farm, then they can ask Ali & Neil for tips for local pubs, beaches, walks, and other dog-friendly activities.

Looking forward to seeing you down at the farm sometime soon! Ollie, the campsite dog

Edit: Sadly, we had to say goodbye to our lovely boy, Ollie, in March 2024, but his spirit still lives on at Mena…
