Walking holidays in Cornwall
Lace up those walking boots and discover Cornwall in all its glory. From the stunning South West Cost Path to magical Bodmin Moor, Cornwall is a walker's paradise...
ViewBoasting breathtaking natural beauty, a spectacular coastline, picture postcard destinations and world-renowned visitor attractions, it’s little wonder Cornwall is the UK’s favourite holiday destination.
It is especially popular with lovers of the great outdoors, with its beaches, coastal footpath, moorland peaks and cycle ways just waiting to be explored. If you love walking, cycling, rock climbing, water sports or even a round of golf then Cornwall is most definitely the destination for your next holiday.
Our location in central Cornwall means that you’re only a short distance from the remote beauty of West Cornwall, the rugged landscape of North Cornwall, the stunning beaches around Newquay or the historic city of Truro. If you’re not sure which way to head, take a look at sky, check the wind direction and have a look at the tide times here, and you won’t go far wrong!
If there’s one thing you and your family simply have to do during your stay with us it’s to lace up those walking boots and explore Cornwall on foot. Walk the South West Coastal Path, which winds its way around the coast for over 280 miles, taking in just about every cove, inlet and beach in the county. Nearby Bodmin Moor is another popular choice. Whether you want to try and track down the mythical Beast of Bodmin Moor or you fancy climbing the peaks of Rough Tor and Brown Willy, this remote region is well worth exploring – and is just a few miles from Mena Farm. If you prefer your action on two wheels then Cornwall’s got that covered, too. The nearby 18-mile Camel Trail is largely traffic free and runs through a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) alongside the Camel Estuary, following a disused railway line. The trail, which links Wenfordbridge, Bodmin, Wadebridge and Padstow is very popular and a lovely way to spend the day.
If there’s one thing that Cornwall’s famed for it is its beaches and coastline. In fact there’s over 300 beaches around the county’s coast. From iconic sandy beaches to intimate sheltered coves, Cornwall’s beaches are diverse and different (so there’s bound to be one that’s just right for you!).
Ok, we’ll admit it – the sun doesn’t always shine in Cornwall. And, on the odd occasion that the heavens open, it’s nice to be able to take this kids somewhere and keep them entertained.
Lucky, then, that Cornwall boasts a number of top attractions. From the world famous Eden Project, with its Rainforest and Mediterranean biomes, to Newquay Zoo, Camel Creek Adventure Park and Bodmin Jail. Best of all, these attractions are only a short distance from Mena Farm.
