Fowey Festival: 11-19 May 2018
The annual Fowey festival is an eclectic mix of good quality entertainment; literary based interviews, presentations, theatre, music, comedy, academic talks, as well as workshops, exhibitions and local walks; all to inform and inspire the imagination! Workshops and participatory events will be a key feature this year so that you can join in and learn new skills or even improve old ones!
Lostfest: Sunday 20th May 2018
Lostwithiel’s quirky one-day festival is back! From samba to Morris dancing, barbershop quartets to pop, LostFest has something for everyone. There will be entertainment in all venues and on every street corner to keep toes tapping. In addition, Lostwithiel will be chock-a-block with stalls selling arts, crafts, antiques and lots of other goodies. Supporting local UK-based artists and artisans, you can find several stalls holding demonstrations and workshops. Get on down!
Royal Cornwall Show: 7-9th June 2018
Arguably Cornwall’s single biggest event of the year, there’s something for every member of the family at the Royal Cornwall Show. In it’s 223rd year, the show is brim-full of exhibits and activities which offer so much in the way of entertainment, competition, information, shopping and all that’s best in food and farming.
It’s a time and place to meet old friends, conduct business, enjoy Cornwall in all its glory and to welcome thousands of visitors from outside our county.
This is a top agricultural show which attracts increasing numbers of animals, entered into the hundreds of classes which are refined each year. And year on year people travel from further and further afield in the hope of coming away with an award. It’s good for agriculture, good for tourism, good for the economy, the environment and good for the soul!
The show supports and promotes Cornish-grown and Cornish-produced food both in the trade section and in our own cafes and restaurants.
Main ring entertainment is mounted on a grand scale and the traditional steam fair is a colourful extravaganza; there are stages and avenues alive with music, song and dance.
