Whether you are touring, camping, glamping or self-catering, we offer a range of campsite facilities to ensure you enjoy your stay at Mena. Mena Farm and our campsite facilities are rated as 4-pennant by the AA, but you won’t find a noisy clubhouse here and there’s no live entertainment. Mena Farm is all about quiet and relaxing holidays.
Reception and Shop: In need of something tasty for breakfast or run out of milk? Take a look in our small on-site shop at reception. As well as stocking essential food, ice creams, camping equipment, toiletries and a range of soft and alcoholic drinks, we also offer:
- Freezer for your ice packs
- Maps of local walks and cycle trails
- Gadget charging (for a small donation to charity)
- Calor gas refills
- Card payments
- Discounted tickets for the Eden Project, and the Lost Gardens of Heligan
- Firepits for hire and firewood for sale
- Recommendations and phone numbers for local taxis, restaurants etc.
Shower and Toilet Blocks: Our shower and toilet blocks are available for all our guests, and offer free, hot showers and hair-dryer. For those requiring disabled or family shower facilities, there’s a secure wet room with baby changing facilities available too.
Wifi: There is free wifi across the main camping field. Due to the site layout, some pitches have better reception than others. There is full 4G signal across the whole site.
What other facilities are there at Mena Farm?
Firepits: We all know that camping isn’t complete without a crackling fire and the scent of drifting woodsmoke. Firepits are available for hire and we sell firewood on-site. We simply ask that you follow the rules regarding the use of firepits and BBQs whether you use ours or bring your own. You will find these displayed around the site.
Laundry: Accidents do occasionally happen, so that’s why we provide a coin-operated washing machine, tumble dryer and free ironing facilities.
Bike Hire: Bike hire is available on-site by Explore by Bike, and you can also speak to the owner, Martin, about guided rock-climbing trips.
Play Area: The play area is in the centre of our main camping field. Close enough that the younger members of your party can let off steam whilst you keep an eye on them from your pitch, but far enough away that others aren’t disturbed. The play area consists of child and baby swings, a fort, slide, basketball area and plenty of space for ball games.
Games Barn: Our games barn is a great place to hang out; watch TV, play games, read books, enjoy a game of pool, or show off your table football, table tennis or air hockey skills!
Fishing: There is a large, well-stocked, fish pond on site. Perfect for dangling a rod over the side on a lazy afternoon, or for fishing for tiddlers with the kids providing you have an EA licence. You will have to show this before you can fish, and day fishing fees are applicable. For serious anglers, there is a large fishing lake complex within a couple of miles of Mena.
Enjoy Nature: We have around 15 acres of beautiful countryside for you to explore – go for a nature ramble, build a den, search out rabbits, badgers and hedgehogs, spot buzzards, woodpeckers and kingfishers, picnic by the pond, go star-gazing, and enjoy the most amazing sunsets.
What amenities are nearby?
Just over a mile away is our brilliant village, Lanivet, which boasts award-winning eateries, the Welcome Stranger Fish and Chip Restaurant, and The Lanivet Inn. You’ll also find a large Spar shop, post office, hair salon, great community centre and sports facilities, and the village church marks the official centre of Cornwall.
We’re also very lucky to have horse-riding available within a mile of the site, doggie-daycare within 1.5 miles, and a beauty therapist just a short walk away. If you’d like a massage, facial or other beauty treatment during your stay at Mena Farm, please check out what the The Stable has to offer.
Despite it’s convenient location, our campsite in Cornwall has a distinct countryside feel and it’s sometimes hard to imagine that we’re just a few minutes’ drive from one of the county’s largest towns – Bodmin. Here you will find just about everything you may need during your stay. Bodmin boasts Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Asda, Aldi and Lidl supermarkets as well as several petrol stations, butchers, pubs, cafes, restaurants and a hospital. It also has one of the best tourist information centres in the county, packed full of ideas for days out.
